TURKISH EARTHQUAKE
The Prime Minister sent the following message to the Prime
Minister of Turkey.
The Australian Government has learnt with sorrow and deep
concern of the death and devastation wrought by the recent
earthquake in Eastern Turkey. On behal f of the Government
and of all Australians, I extend sincere sympathy and
condolence to the Turkish Government and to the Turkish
people in their present distress.
The plight of the surviving victims of the earthquake is
immediate and tragic, and my Government is taking urgent
action to examine ways and means by which we can help you
to alleviate the suffering.
