DEATH OF SIR EARLE PAGE
Tribute-by the Prime Minister, the lit. Hon. R. G. Menzies
Sir Earle Page was a very distinguished Australian.
He was one of the founders of the Country Party. His long
partnership with Mr. Bruce ( as he then was) covered a period of
great national advancement.
Always fertile in ideas, he played a great part in
the establishment of great institutions like the Financial
Agreement and the Loan Council, and great measures of social
welfare like the current Commonwealth Health Scheme. He
will be long remembered for his constructive work in the
modern political history of ustralia.
