MINISTER TO ASSIST THE PRIME MINISTER IN THE ARTS
The Prime Minister announced today that he has appointed a
Minister to assist him in matters relating to the Arts.
The Hon. A. A. Staley, Minister for the Capital Territory,
will assist the Prime Minister in matters relating to the Arts
including in respect of the Australia Council, Australian
National. Gallery, Australian Film Commission, the Film and
Television School and the Australian Authors' Fund.
As is the practice when Ministers assist the Prime Minister
in specific policy areas, the Prime Minister will continue to
be involved in major policy considerations.
