MINISTERIAL ARRANGEMENTS
With the approval of the Governor-General the Prime
Minister today announced ministerial changes following
* the-illness of the Minister for the Environment, Housing
and Community Development, Senator Ivo r Greenwood.
The Prime Minister said he had recommended withdrawal
of Senator Greenwood's commission with deep regret,
and only after full consideration of medical advice.
The Prime Minister said he and his colleagues looked
forward to the time when Senator Greenwood's health would
be sufficiently improved to enable him to lead an
active life.
The Minister for Repatriation, Mr Kevin Newman, is to be
appointed Minister for the Environment, Housing and
Commufiity Development.
Senator Peter Durack is to be appointed Minister for
Repatriation.
The Governor-General will make the appointments of M.\ r Newman
and Senator Durack to their new offices later this week.
The Minister for Social Security, Senator Margaret Guilfoyle,
will become a member of the Cabinet.
