Commitment to the Joint Commonwealth and Tasmanian Economic Council
The Joint Commonwealth and Tasmanian Economic Council (JCTEC) is an important body that seeks to drive competitive reforms that will boost Tasmania's long-term growth and benefit individuals, households and businesses.
It has been very effective in delivering tangible outcomes for the people of Tasmania.
For example, JCTEC has delivered:
- $203 million increase to the Freight Equalisation Scheme
- $120 million in Tranche 2 irrigation projects
- $300 million for the University of Tasmania redevelopment at Burnie and Launceston
JCTEC will continue building on its considerable success and its next meeting is scheduled to happen on April 20.
