INDUSTRIES ASSISTANCE COMMISSION ACT: TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE
AUTHORITY INJECTION MOULDING MACHINES
The Prime Minister, Mr. Whitlam, announced today
that he had sent a reference to the Temporary Assistance
Authority on whether it : is necessary that urgent action be
taken to protect the Australian industry in relation to the
importation of injection moulding machines.
Mr. Whitlam said that he was satisfied from
representations made by Johns Consolidated Ltd that a prima
facie case for a reference to the Temporary Assistance
Authority had been established.
Under the Act the Authority is required to report
within 30 days.
