FOR PRESS: Statement by the Chairman of the Common real th
Public Service Board
Dr. Bazeley, Director of the Commonwealth Serum
Laboratories, having denied the charge made by the Director-
General of Health, the Pdblic Service Board has, as required
by section 56 of the Public Service Act, today appointed a
Board of Inquiry which will inquire into the truth of the
0 charge and report to the Public Service Board its opinion
thereon. The Board of Inquiry is composed as follows
Chairman: The Honourable Mr. Justice R. M. Eggleston,
Judge of the Commonwealth Industrial Court
and of the Supreme Court of the Australian
Capital Territory.
Members: Sir Patrick McGovern, of Forrest,
Canberra, Aø C. T.
Mr. F. P. O'Grady, Deputy Director-General,
Postmaster-General' s Department.
The Chairman of the Board of Inquiry will determine
the time and place for the hearings. The Board of Inquiry
will decide whether the hearings shall be held in public or
in private.
