VISIT BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF NEW ZEALAND
The Prime Minister of New Zealand, the Right
Honourable Norman Kirk and Mrs. Kirk will make an
official visit to Australia from 13 November to 17 November
1973. The visit will begin in Canberra with an arrival
on Tuesday 13 November. The Prime Minister will officially
open the Chancery of the New Zealand High Commission in the
afternoon and he and Mrs. Kirk will be the guests of the
Governor-General and Lady Hasluck for dinner that evening.
Mr. Kirk will have official talks at Prime Minister
level and with Cabinet Ministers on Wednesday afternoon
14 November. That evening he and Mrs. Kirk will be the
guests of honour at a* Parliamentary Reception at Parliament
House. The Prime Minister and his wife are due to make a
day visit to Melbourne on Thursday 15 November and to arrive
in Sydney on Thursday evening 15 November where they will
stay until their departure for New Zealand on Saturday
17 November. The visit by the New Zealand Prime Minister is a
follow-up to the discussions in New Zealand in January this
year when it was agreed to meet at least once a year for an
overall review of relations between Australia and New Zealand.
