THE QUEEN'S VISIT OCTOBER 1973
The Queen's visit to Australia for the opening of the
Sydney Opera House will begin with an arrival in Canberra on the
afternoon of Wednesday 17 October.
Her Majesty will be in Canberra for three days and will
leave by air for Sydney on Saturday 20 October, Her departure
from Australia will be from Sydney on Monday 22 October after
attending an evening function at the Opera House.
The Queenis program of engagements in Canberra is as
follows:
Wednesday 17 October 1973
Afternoon Ceremonial arrival at RAAF Bases Canberra
Presentation of Ministers, Presiding Officers of
Parliament9 Opposition Lpaders and wives at
Government House
Evening No official engagements
Thursday 18 October 1973
Morning No official engagements
Lunch At Parliament House with Senators and Members
( Wives included)
Afternoon No official engagements
Evening Dinner at Government House
Friday ' 19 October 1973
Morning No official engagements
Lunch At The Lodge
Afternoon Her Majesty receives the Prime Minister at
Government House
Meeting with Executive Council
Evening Attend Australian Ballet performance at Canberra
Theatre.
