TASMANIAN FRUIT-PR~ OCESSING INDUSTRY
Statement by the Prime minister, the Rt. Hon.
William McMahon CH, MP
The Prime Minist br has received representations
on the economic difficulties of the Tasmanian fruit processing
industry from Dr. Solomon, MP and Senator J. E. Marriott,
who had been in consultation with the Premier, Mr Bethune.
The Prime Minister said that he had noted
the dependence of the Tasmanian fruit-processing industry
on a limited range of crops, mainly apples. He stated that
he would arrange for Cormmonwealth authorities tc investigate
and report to the Government on the matter.
