PRIME MINISTER'S PROGRAMME FOR JAPAN
The Prime Minister, Mr. John Gorton, will have an audience
with the Emperor and be given a Dinner by the Japanee Prime Minister
when he makes a brief visit to Japan next month for Australia's National
Day ( 8 May) at EXPO.
Mr. Gorton will leave Canberra for Tokyo at 10 o'clock on
the night of Tuesday 5 May, after taking part in that day's sitting of
Parliament. He will make the journey in a BAC 111 aircraft of the
RAAF, returning to Canberra in the early hours of Sunday, 10 May.
Mrs. Gorton will accompany the Prime Minister on the visit,
which is primarily designed to enable Mr. Gorton to be present at the
special day when Australia is the featured country at EXPO
