ECONOMIC CONSULTATIONS
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr John Gorton
In Sydney today, the Government met with representatives
of industry and commerce. Ministers conferred with representatives
of national organisations in three groups primary industry,
manufacturing industry and commerce,
These economic consultations, which are held at
half-yearly intervals, were once again valuable in providing Ministers
with an appreciation of the views of those directly involved in commerce
and industry. The consultations will continue tomorrow, when
Ministers will have separate discussions with representatives of the
Export Development Council, the Manufacturing Industries Advisory
Council and the Australian Council of Trade Unions.
