APPOINTMENT TO NATIONAL RADIATION
ADVISORY COMMITEE
Statement by the Prime Minister,_ Mr. John Gorton
Dr. J. M. Rendel has accepted an invitation to
become a member of the National Radiation Advisory Committee.
Dr. Rendel is Chief of the Division of Animal
Genetics of the C. S. I. R. 0. and Chairman of the Animal Research
Laboratories. He will fill the vacancy created by the resignation
of Mr. D. A. Gill. Dr. Rendel, with his background in animal health
and production, is well qualified to assist the National Radiation
Advisory Committee, which was established in 1957 to advise the
Government on the effects of ionising radiation on the Australian
