ATTITUDE TO NUCLEA-R NON-PROLIFERATION TREATY
Spokesman Comment for Background
The Australian Government has indicated its
support in principle for a nuclear non-proliferation treaty
provided such a treaty is fully effective and provided complete
and satisfactory guarantees of protection against nuclear
attack can be achieved. The matters to be discussed in the United Nations
General Assembly will bear on whether or not such a treaty and
such conditions can be achieved.
