PROPOSED VIETNAM SUMMIT
The Prime Minister authorised the following oral
comment on the reports that South Vietnam was sounding out its
allies about a new Vietnam Summit meeting:
* We have not received an invitation to a Summit conference.
* We have been asked for our views on the desirability of holding
a. Summit conference.
* We cannot see what useful purpose a Summit meeting could serve
at this stage.
( This was a spokesman comment not in the Prime Minister's
