AUSTRALIAN PARTICIPATION AT EXPO 70 OSAKA
Rear Admiral T. K. Morrison, CB, CBE, DSC, took
up his position in Canberra todly as Australian Commissioner-General
for EXPO 70. Admiral Morrison will control the preparations for
Australian participation in EZPO 70, the first category Universal and
International Exhibition to be held in Osaka, Japan from 15 March to 13
September 1970. The Australian Exhibits Crganization for EXPO 7C,
which is attached to Prime Minister's Department, will be located at
Casey House in State Circle.
The Government is in contact with the Exposition
Authorities in Csaka to secure a desirable site for the Australian
pavilion. The Commonwealth Department of V! orks, which designed
the successful Australian pavrlion at EXPC 67 in Montreal, will be
responsible for the design of the Australian pavilion for EXPO
Negotiations are proceeding for the appointment of an exhibits architect
to design the exhibits and interior layout of the building.
