CORAL SEA CELEBRATIONS
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. R. G. Menzies
The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. R. G. Menzies, C. Ho
announced today that Admiral H. G. Hopwood,
Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet, had accepted an invitation
to visit Australia to take part in the Coral Sea Celebrations
early in May this year. Admiral Hopwood will be accompanied
by his wife. During their stay they will be the joint guests of
the Commonwealth Government and the Australian American
Association. The proposed itinerary will be as follows:-
Monday, 2nd May
Thursday, 5th May
Friday, 6th May
Monday 9th May ( about 3 p. m.)
Tuesday, 10th May ( 3 p. m.)
Saturday 14th May
Monday 16th May
' Jednesday 18th May
Thursday, 19th May Arrive Sydney
Sydney to Newcastle
Newcastle to Brisbane
Brisbane to Canberra
Canberra to Melbourne.
Melbourne to Adelaide
Adelaide to Perth
Perth to Sydney
Depart Australia.
