TRIBUTE TO THE LATE DR. , DENAUER BY THE
PRIME MINISTER, MR. HAROLD HOLT
Dr. Adenauer contributed to the growth of post-war
co-operat'on among the countries of Europe a co-operation which found
practical expression in the European Economic Community.
He will be remembered for the part he played
personally * n restoring the basis of friendship between Germany and
France. He was regarded by many as the outstanding German
leader of th4s century. His liberal and humanitar-an outlook d; d much
to create the favourable acceptance of post-war Germany.
West Germany today is a tribute to his wise leadership.
