ECONOMIC CONSULTATIONS
Statement by the Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Holt
Arrangrements are being made for a further series of economic
consultations with representatives of industry, commerce, and the
trade unions. The Government continues to derive considerable
benefit from these discussions as a valuable means of keeping itself
fully informed on current and prospective developments in the
economy. A grroup of senior Ministers will meet representatives of a
group of national organisations in Canberra on the morning of 13th
February. The or-: anisations invited to attend are:
Associated Chambers of Manufactures of Australia
Associated Chambers of Commerce of Australia
National Farmers' Union of Australia
Australian Primary Producers' Union
Australian Woolgrowers' and Graziers' Council
Australian Wool and Meat Producers' Federation
Australian Bmkers' Association
Master Builders' Federation of Australia
Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries
Australian Council of Retailers
In the afternoon of that day separate meetings will take place
with the Manufacturin. g In dustries Advisory Council and the Export
Development Council and in the evenin with representatives of the
Australian Council of Trade Unions.
