Reports, as requested by me, from the Departments of Finance and Administration and Health and Ageing have now been received. Both of them will be made available to the Auditor-General for his information in the event that he decides to conduct an enquiry.
At this stage it is premature to decide whether or not the two reports should be made public.
As the reports relate to the actions of two former ministers, copies have been sent to Mr Fahey and Dr Wooldridge.
I am yet to receive legal advice regarding withdrawal of the contribution originally committed to ‘G.P. House';.
In the meantime I have given instructions that no further action is to be taken to process that contribution.
It remains the case that the Government';s asthma and rural health promises will be fully funded.
