ThQ' Commnonwealth Government will hold a further series of
Economic Consultations with representatives of industry and commerce
in Canberra next Tuesday ( 1st March).
The Government has been much assisted in the past by such
discussion which afforded a valuable opportunity to Ministers to
obtain at first-hand the views on current and prospective developments
in the Australian economy of those directly engaged in
business and industry.
On Tuesday morning Ministers will have discussions first
with representatives of the Manufacturing Industries Advisory
Council, and then with representatives of the ExportDevelopment
Council. In the afternoon they will confer with representatives
of the following national organisations:-
Associated Chambers of Manufactures of Australia
Associated Chambers of Commerce of Australia
National Farmers' Union.-. of Australia
Australian Primary Producers' Union
Australian Wool Growers' and Graziers' Council
Australian Wool and Meat Producers' Federation
Australian Bankers' Association
Master Builders' Federation of Australia
Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries
Australian Council of Retailers.
Ministers will meet representatives of the Australian
Council of Trade Unions on Thuirsday, 10th March.
