Caretaker Period Over
The Australian Electoral Commission has today confirmed that the Coalition will have a clear working majority in the new Parliament.
Therefore, the caretaker period will end forthwith so that the usual functions of government can be resumed.
Meetings of the Coalition parliamentary parties will take place in Canberra on Wednesday. The new Cabinet and Ministry will subsequently be formed.
It is expected that the swearing in will take place next week.
