Statement by tho Prime Minister0 the _ tHon. Sir Robert Menzies
Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of
Gloucester will visit four States and also Canberra during
their stay in Australia next year.
The visit will begin and end in Canberra and the
States to be visited are, in sequence, Tasmania, Victoria
New South Wales ( including the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric
Authority) and Queensland. Their Royal Highnesses will arrive
in Canberra on Saturday, 13th March, and will finally leave
Australia on Monday, 26th April,
Some of the time will be spent in privately revisiting
personal friends and places they knew when the Duke was Governor-
General. Their official engagements will include attendance
in Canberra at a ceremony to commemorate the fiftieth
anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli, and visits to the
Royal Easter Show in Sydney which His Royal Highness will open
on Wednesday, 1+ th April,
